HOPE worldwide Challenge 2022

Welcome to our 2022 HOPE worldwide Fundraising Challenge!

Do you want to make a difference in the lives of people who are homeless? What about helping men who are conquering addiction? If the answer to one (or both) of those questions is yes, it’s time for you to join the HOPE worldwide Challenge!

This year, in response to popular demand, we are having in-person and virtual challenge options for all you diligent fundraisers. Whether you want to walk, run, row, climb, do push-ups or more, there is a challenge you can do.

For those interested in the in-person option, we will meet on 29 October at 10 a.m. at St. Mark’s Church (our ODAAT offices), for a 10K walk or 21K run – take your pick! The festivities will end at 4 p.m. Address: 337 Kennington Park Road, London SW11 4PW.

But if going virtual is your preference, feel free to choose a fundraiser that suits you – even if that means doing handstands in your backyard, doing a bake sale, or climbing a mountain! During our virtual fundraiser in 2021, 70+ supporters inspired more than 600 donations and raised £26,203 (including Gift Aid) with a variety of activities.

The raised funds from the 2022 challenge will go to ODAAT and Two Step, two HOPE worldwide programmes. ODAAT is a drug and alcohol, quasi-residential, male only, rehabilitation programme, and Two Step works to house those experiencing homelessness in London.

Our goal for this year’s HOPE worldwide Challenge is to raise in excess of £30,000. Your donations will go towards the funds we need to meet our programme costs.

You can choose to participate by clicking the 'TAKE PART' button on this web page and following the instructions to create your page for your fundraiser, or to create a fundraising page for your walk at St. Mark’s. Want to create a team? You can do that too.

Ideally, you would complete your challenge during the month of October, but feel free to complete your event any time before 30 November. We will accept donations as long as they are in by 11 December.

Will you help us beat last year’s record to raise money for HOPE worldwide?

Who is this for?

Two Step

Homelessness Services

Launched in 1993 as a response to the large numbers of people sleeping on the streets, the ‘Two Step’ programme provides a specialised housing service for single people in London who are experiencing homelessness. Partnering with night shelters, day centres, councils, charities, and accommodation providers, Two Step has found housing for upwards of 7,400 people since its humble beginnings. In a typical year, Two Step helps approximately 200 people per year find housing. Your funding helps us to continue to help those experiencing homelessness, and to find and retain staff who work hard toward that goal.

ODAAT

Rehabilitation programme

ODAAT (One Day At A Time) strives to be a family, not an institution, for men who are battling addiction. This drug and alcohol rehabilitation programme is male only, abstinence-based and quasi-residential and our holistic approach is what has allowed us to help upwards of 500 men overcome their addiction since the programme began in 1995. Composed of three stages and featuring counselling, psychotherapy, anger management and post-programme peer support, ODAAT is committed to not only helping men overcome addiction but also remain free of it. Your donations will impact the lives of men who want to be free of addiction and will help us increase our success.
